Gone and Forgotten

Sometimes the “big picture” is lost in the details. That is not to say that many details are not important. Let’s take, for example, the enormous amount of sin(s) of which we are guilty. (Have you ever tried to estimate the total of your sins)? For any of us the amount would be staggering! So, what happens? We either lament the vast volume or conclude that we are hopeless. If, however, we look at the “big picture,” we find that there is hope. For all who know Jesus as Lord and Savior, all of our sin(s) have been paid for in full! Jesus completely paid our just penalty for us on that horrible Roman cross! Our sin(s) is/are gone and forgotten. Are you aware of what God told us in Isaiah 43:25? Take a few moments to think on it: “I, (even) I, (am) He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” We grieve over our failures, our sin(s); we wonder if God has really forgiven us. Certain sins crop up in our thoughts. Thinking on them, we feel guilt and find ourselves praying: “Oh, God! Forgive me for that sin or those sins! God’s reply: What sin(s)? What about sin(s) after we are born again? We’ll look at that tomorrow, God willing. Remember! “Calvary Covers It ALL!” “Far dearer than all that the world can impart was the message that came to my heart, how that Jesus alone for my sin did atone and Calvary covers it all. The stripes that He bore and the thorns that He wore told His mercy and love evermore; and my heart bowed in shame as I called on His name and Calvary covers it all. Calvary covers it all, my past with its sin and stain; my guilt and despair Jesus took on Him there , and Calvary covers it all.” (By Ethel Robinson Taylor). Selah! “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12).    Ron
