You Are Being Stalked!

If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are being stalked! Look at this warning in I Peter 5:8-9a and be prepared: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist stedfast in the faith.” If you have truly given your heart and life to Jesus, you have a target on your back (and front). Your adversary, the devil, can’t take you back into the kingdom of darkness. However, because you belong to Jesus and are under His rule, you are a threat to the devil. To put it bluntly, “He hates your guts!” He is stalking you, looking for ways to destroy you. If he can damage you, defame you, distract you, defeat you, disable you, he will do it! The pathway through history is strewn with the victims of his attacks. You do not have to be a victim! You can escape his “claws!” You might ask, “How can I escape?” The answer is found in the first part of Verse 9: “whom resist stedfast in the faith.” “Faith,”  by exposure to Scripture, is birthed, strengthened, increased and effective in warding off Satan’s “lion-like” attacks. Faith comes from quality time spent absorbing God’s Word daily. Mrs. C. H. Morris gave us a very appropriate hymn, “Victory All the Time.” In the second and third stanzas, she speaks of the weapon of victory, God’s Word: “In the midst of battle be thou not dismayed, though the pow’rs of darkness ’gainst thee are arrayed; God, thy Strength, is with thee, causing thee to stand, Heaven’s allied armies wait at thy command. Brave to bear life’s testing, strong the foe to meet, walking like a hero midst the furnace heat, doing wondrous exploits with the Spirit’s Sword, winning souls for Jesus, praise, oh, praise the Lord!” Selah! Jesus overcame Satan’s temptations with correct use of Scripture and those who are His can too, using the same means!   Ron
