Visiting A Graveyard

When Adam and Eve sinned, they were expelled from the garden and entered the graveyard. They themselves died spiritually and were eventually surrounded by people who were also spiritually dead. This whole planet became a spiritual graveyard for all who are alive physically, but dead spiritually. This graveyard has been visited regularly for centuries by One Who conquered death. Knowing even before He made our planet who would open themselves up to receive Him as Savior and Lord, He has visited countless graves and, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, He has raised multitudes to Spiritual life. Paul spoke of this in Ephesians 2:1. He told those in Ephesus who were raised to new life in Christ: “And you (hath He quickened) who were dead in trespasses and sins.” Once you’ve experienced this new birth; new life, the Holy Spirit continues to sustain that new life and is with you to help you grow and mature in your walk through this world on the way to Heaven. John H. Sammis gave us the well-known hymn, “Trust and Obey.” In this hymn, he explains in simple terms how we experience this growth and maturity: “When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word, what a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil He doth richly repay; not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, but is blest if we trust and obey. But we never can prove the delights of His love until all on the altar we lay; for the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows, are for them who will trust and obey. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet, or we’ll walk by His side in the way; what He says we will do, where He sends we will go; never fear, only trust and obey. Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.” Selah! From the moment of genuine rebirth, the Holy Spirit’s Presence is with us to shape us and perfect us so that we may enter Heaven, rejoicing. Follow His leading! You’ll never regret doing this!     Ron

  1. shalom, pastor ron, do you know where to find the direct quote, by jb phillips, i believe:
    something like:
“…we are never going to progress in our theology until we understand that
The Creator INVADED this planet to become Our Redeemer…”
and that began in the little nation of Israel…
