“The World to Come” with God

We think of Heaven as a place where all our “wrongs” will be “righted” and all of our troubles and problems will be over. While we can safely look forward to this, Heaven is much more! We might add to the foregoing: infinite beauty, perfect health, indescribable music, etc. Nevertheless, we can still miss the greatest wonder of all. Consider Paul’s inspired reminder in I Corinthians 13:12: “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face.” In the hymn, “Face to Face,” it is clear that Carrie Ellis Breck had the right focus: “Face to face with Christ my Savior, face to face–what will it be when with rapture I behold Him, Jesus Christ who died for me? Only faintly now I see Him with the darkened veil between, but a blessed day is coming when His glory shall be seen. What rejoicing in His presence, when are banished grief and pain; when the crooked ways are straightened and the dark things shall be plain. Face to face–oh, blissful moment! Face to face–to see and know; face to face with my Redeemer, Jesus Christ who loved me so. Face to face I shall behold Him, far beyond the starry sky; face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!” To be with the One Who loved us so much that He bore the horror of Calvary so we can be with Him forever, never again to be separated; Oh! The wonder of it all!  Selah! Don’t get bogged down in this brief speck of eternity that constitutes our time on earth. Know Him, love Him, learn about Him, learn from Him, and be ready to meet Him!   Ron
