Sanctified Copies?

It is in the nature of human beings to look for models of how we should conduct ourselves. We look for mentors and counselors to advise us on how to be successful. We make a serious mistake when the spotlight is on ourselves. Instead, how much more important it is to learn to model what really counts in life. Do we resemble the unsaved or do we model what Christ can do in, for, and through one who is given over to His working?” To love what the world loves, pursue what the world pursues, behave the way the world behaves (albeit a more moral version) will not move the observers to turn to Jesus. They are likely going to be content with their own unsanitized version. On the other hand, a life fully committed to Jesus speaks volumes to an empty soul longing for something that will fill the void of his or her wasted life. God’s work in you may move some to desire it for themselves. Only as we share the light of God’s Word, will the corruption of unredeemed lives be exposed. In some it will provoke resistance; in others, prompt a desire to be cleansed. This is one reason why Paul prayed: “That ye (we) might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). Think on these lyrics from P. P. Bliss’ hymn, “The Light of the World is Jesus:” “Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee; sweetly the light has dawned upon me; once I was blind, but now I can see: the Light of the world is Jesus! Ye dwellers in darkness with sin-blinded eyes, the Light of the world is Jesus!  Go, wash at His bidding, and light will arise; the Light of the world is Jesus!” Selah! Keep the lens of your lives clean!   Ron
