Far, Yet Near!

Our God is infinitely unique. He is in Heaven! (Does anyone know how many miles it is from here to Heaven)? In Isaiah 57:15, He is described as: “….the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy.”  Yet, in the same verse, He is spoken of as: “…. with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Who might these be? These are those who will open themselves to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. However, while He will never leave those who are born again, when Christians sin, the sense of His Presence is withdrawn. His fellowship is “on hold.” Only when a saved one confesses and turns from his or her sin is that awareness of His Presence restored. How urgent it is to know His Presence! For those who never open their lives to Him, they will be banished from His Presence forever! What joy and peace are ours when we, who are His, enjoy His Presence in unbroken fellowship. Leila N. Morris gives voice to this in the hymn,  ” ‘Tis Marvelous and Wonderful:” “If fellowship here with my Lord can be so inexpressibly sweet, oh, what will it be when His face we see, when ’round the bright throne we meet? When ’round the bright throne we meet? Oh, it is wonderful! It is marvelous and wonderful, what Jesus has done for this soul of mine! The half has never been told; oh, it is wonderful! It is marvelous and wonderful, what Jesus has done for this soul of mine! The half has never been told!” Selah! Think what it will be like to be with Him forever; imagine what it would be like to be forever without Him! If some reader hasn’t received Him, do it while you can. Those of us who do know Him, let nothing disturb this wonderful fellowship!   Ron
