First, let’s consider anyone who has not received Jesus as Savior and Lord. The greatest need of your whole life is to admit your sinfulness and sins, throw yourself on His mercy and grace, receive Him as your Lord and Savior and, out of love and gratitude, turn away from your old ways and look to Him to change your life to be honoring to Him. Read Romans 10:9-10, carefully, and do what it says.
If you have already done that, read and obey these instructions: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9). “I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:1-2). “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? and what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? and what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (II Corinthians 6:14-7:1). Following these instructions, let Him shape you into His likeness. He will! Ron
“Have we been true to the trust He left us/ Do we seek to do our best? If in our hearts there is naught condemns us, we shall have a glorious rest. O can we say we are ready, brother” Ready for the soul’s bright home? Say, will He find you and me still watching, waiting, waiting when the Lord shall come?” (“Will Jesus find Us Watching?” by fanny J. Crosby). Selah! Righteous living will never bring salvation but genuine salvation will produce righteous living, as we follow God’s instructions, in His strength!
