Expressing Excitement

Use what word you will, such as excitement, enthusiasm, joy, thrill, fascination, obsession, etc. How is it expressed? Is it always outward, vocal, emotionally charged? Not always! For some this may be; for others, what? It may be quiet, deep-seated, profound, “felt” in the depths of our hearts. It may be both! My point is that if we know Jesus as Savior and Lord; if we have truly been converted, it will impact us somehow. We have to find inner and/or outer expression. There is no way to be “ho, hum,” ” It’s nice,” “Yes, I believe it,” (But I’m not making any changes to speak of). There will be a life being cleaned up, peace, joy, love, worship, praise, gratitude, etc. We can’t be matter of fact about a genuine relationship with Jesus. It may come out in your talking, in writing, in testimonies, in prayer, in winning others, in transformed behavior, etc. It will affect all areas of our lives. Authentic rebirth will generate spontaneous expression! It may be a calm expression or a demonstrative one, but it will be expressed! The familiar Truth found in Galatians 5:22 explains, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance….” If we have the root; there will be the fruit! Oswald J. Smith’s hymn, “Joy in Serving Jesus,” captures the heartbeat of one truly saved, “There is joy in serving Jesus, as I journey on my way, joy that fills the heart with praises, every hour and every day. There is joy, joy, joy in serving Jesus, joy that throbs within my heart; every moment, every hour, as I draw upon his power, there is joy, joy, joy that never shall depart.” Selah! How can we possibly know Jesus in such a vital relationship and ever be the same? Regeneration is the greatest miracle a human being could experience in this life! Live in the wonder and glory of salvation!  Ron
