Conflicting Views

None of us are without our way of viewing things. Our formed and forming views are a composite of all that we have been exposed to, learned and concluded. However our mindset is developed, it would be wise to examine the source from which it began. We start life spiritually dead to God. Therefore, our view of life is formed within that context. It is reinforced by input from others who are also spiritually dead. If God left us that way, we would remain that way forever. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12). Thankfully, God doesn’t leave us that way. He brings light (understanding) from many sources and in many ways; above all of them, He uses Scripture. Our exposure to the Bible is much more than we might think. Sermons, saved people, Godly parents, a gospel pamphlet are just a few ways that God uses to encourage our escape from spiritual death. This light opens our eyes to things that we do not naturally want exposed, especially to ourselves. In John 3:19-20, God explains, ….this is the condemnation that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” Being blind to Spiritual Truth, we resist change from that to which we are accustomed. If we will stop resisting and start listening to God, we can escape spiritual death. Once we escape, our new mindset begins to be developed. We progressively discover wonderful new reality and more and more about the love and grace of God. Philip P. Bliss’ Hymn, “The Light of the World is Jesus,” explains: “No darkness have we who in Jesus abide, the Light of the world is Jesus; we walk in the Light when we follow our Guide, the Light of the world is Jesus. Come to the Light, ’tis shining for thee; sweetly the Light has dawned upon me; once I was blind, but now I can see; the Light of the world is Jesus.” Selah! If you have come to the Light, you know the joy of living; if you haven’t, the Light shines; open your eyes and live!   Ron
