Local Church Robots?

Could we have robots in the local church? It’s possible. How could a flesh and blood human being ever become a robot? Of course they don’t, but they can unwittingly become like one. Remember when you first learned to drive. You were given instructions, laws and training. Then, came the actual thrill of being a licensed driver and being in control of your vehicle. Now, you hardly think about it. You do it like you were a part of the machine. if you stop and think about it, driving somewhere can still be a pleasure. However, much of the time you’re are too busy to think about it. You just do it. With a car, that’s not a major issue. When we compare it to our claim of being a Christian, has the first excitement and pleasure faded and now, in the midst of our demanding activities, we have just lapsed into a machine like religious routine? The thrill of coming to know Christ in a personal relationship, the wonder of life in Christ has become so familiar that we just function from force of habit, with little thought of the marvel of being a child of God. Our local church attendance and service, our giving, praying, talking, and our study and worship have become things we do with regularity but not much thought. Instead of a vibrant vital faith, we have lapsed into boring habit. We have become like robots. To such, Jesus speaks, “….I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die.” (From Revelation 3:1-2). Let your heart be re-ignited with the holy flame until you can, from the heart, say, “All that thrills my soul is Jesus, He is more than life to me, and the fairest of ten thousand in my blessed Lord, I see” (From the hymn of that name by Thoro Harris). Selah! Jesus can stir the ashes of a faith that has all but gone out and set our hearts on fire with His glory. Will we look to Him?   Ron
