Demolition

We were born in enemy territory under the sway and influence of “the prince of the power of the air.” Furthermore, we were willing subjects, That is, we were willing, until by the working of the Holy Spirit, we came to understand that we were slaves to an evil power and a desire to be freed was implanted within us. We could renounce our allegiance to this evil kingdom and be translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. If we surrender to God, receive His Son as our Lord,  Savior and Emancipator, we become free indeed. When we do this, we discover that we are in enemy controlled territory and that he has established strongholds in our inner being. Notwithstanding, these bastions of control must be demolished. The means for this is found in Zechariah 4:6. “….Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” In God’s strength, by His engrafted Word being applied in our lives, we need to constantly be “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (II Corinthians 10:5). This discipline, by the mighty power of God’s Holy Spirit, will demolish enemy held ground and strongholds. Kate B. Wilkinson’s prayerful hymn, “May the Mind of Christ My Savior” gives musical expression to the inworking, outworking, power of God to demolish enemy strongholds. “May the mind of Christ my Savior live in me from day to day, by His love and pow’r controlling all I do and say. May the Word of God dwell richly in my heart from hour to hour, so that all may see I triumph only thru His pow’r.” Selah! Satan will fight fiercely to hold his ground but “….the weapons of our warfare….(are) mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” (From II Corinthians 10:4). Draw on His power and you’ll overcome!  Ron
