Fruit – Its Secret‏

Fruit doesn’t just happen! For example: No water; no fruit! There must be water for Spiritual fruit, as well. The Psalmist brings this out. “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night, and he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Psalm 1:1-3). The simple truth is that quality time spent in God’s Word will supply life for Spiritual fruit. The “Water of the Wordwill produce wonderful, Spiritual, fruit. There is a catch, however. Just having a little water “sloshed” over us won’t do much. Only as our roots go deeply down into the Water of God’s Word can we expect to see real Spiritual fruit. Admiring water’s ability to give wonderful produce is interesting, but useless, except as that water goes up through the root to the fruit and nourishes it. Knowing much about the Bible is interesting but only as it touches and changes us can it be productive. If we think about fruit on trees that only receive a little water, that fruit will be shriveled and have little, if any, nice taste. Selah! No shortcuts; no determination; no planning; no desire will produce worthwhile fruit without adequate water. Let your roots go down deep! (More important information for producing good fruit, to follow).  Ron
