A Guaranteed Future

Insurance companies and financial counselors urge us to take steps to guarantee our future financially. There is nothing wrong with that, if we are able, even if it involves some sacrifice for now. We’ll be happy that we made the sacrifice when we find that we ended up better off later. Many smart people do this. However, what is astonishing is that people will do these things for this life, with little or no thought for eternity. We prepare for a few years and give no serious thought to “forever.” For those who have heeded Amos’ admonition found in Amos 4:12 (“….prepare to meet thy God.“), those who have received Jesus as Savior and Lord, these have a guaranteed future in Heaven with Him, forever. For those who do not experience a genuine conversion, they also have a guaranteed future. This is a future separated from God and from righteousness (all that is good, holy, pure, clean, lovely, etc.), forever! In an atmosphere of unadulterated evil, they will forever experience eternal torments. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Those who have received that wonderful gift of salvation can identify with Thomas Kelly’s hymn, “Praise the Savior.” The third verse tells us, “Trust in Him, ye saints, forever; He is faithful, changing never; neither force nor guile can sever those He loves from Him.” The only time we can know for sure that we can be born again is “NOW!” Selah! Jesus prayed a prayer for all who receive Him; it is found in John 17:24, “Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me be with Me where I am; that they may behold My glory,….” Will that prayer be answered in your life? if you haven’t received Him, do it now, while you can!   Ron
