The “Glory” Walk

How glibly we can sing “And He walks with me and He talks with me.” The Psalmist wrote, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD and he delighteth in His way; though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand” (Psalm 37:23-24). How wonderful that God Almighty deigns to come alongside, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, and guide us step by step through life. God interacts with redeemed human beings; He interacts with you and me, when we know Jesus as Savior and Lord. Years ago in an old hymn, Avis M. Burgeson eloquently described this “Glory” walk, “It is glory just to walk with Him Whose blood has ransomed me; it is rapture for my soul each day. It is joy Divine to feel Him near where-e’er my path may be. Bless the Lord, it’s glory all the way! …..He will guide my steps aright, thro’ the vale and o’er the height. It is glory just to walk with Him.” Do we really grasp the wonder of such an amazing and wonderful Companion every step of the way? Selah! With such guidance as He gives, how can we not carefully follow the directions that He has given to us, all through His Word?  Ron
