Scripture says a lot about God’s power toward, for and through His children. But we see so little of it! How are we to experience God’s power? If we are born again, we have been on the receiving end of His power. He has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of His dear Son. (See Colossians 1:13). But what of power in our lives? It is at the door of our lives, if we are His. Engaging in sin or resisting His promptings will keep the power from entering and/or redirect it to corrective discipline. That power will be as strong as needed for God to correct us. Let’s assume for discussions sake, that nothing keeps the power out. It can sit passively in us, unused! Or it can be released. How? By studying, knowing, applying and obeying God’s Word. However, giving the Word out without the authority that comes with a working knowledge of and complete confidence in its absolute Truth will accomplish little or nothing (except as God works without us). Neither can we generate the power. Only God can bring His Word to bear and activate His power in and through the messages. We must ask Him to work in and through us and make sure that we are usable. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us” (Ephesians 3:20). Selah! Born again, yielded to God, saturated with and being governed by the Scriptures and relying on God, activates His power.  Ron
