The Cleansing Power of Water

We, who know Jesus as Savior and Lord, have been cleansed by His blood, once and for all time. "Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood." (From Revelation 1:5). This has to do with our legal status, spiritually. God cleared the slate of all that He had against us and forgave us and removed our transgressions from us. Nevertheless, our daily contact with this world and our capacity to cave in to our old Adamic nature brings daily defilement that must be removed. How can we be cleansed and kept clean daily? God has provided abundant water, living water, when we make proper use of the Bible for daily cleansing. Speaking of the church (all those who are truly saved) Jesus takes care of keeping us pure in our daily walk. How? "With the washing of water by the Word." (From Ephesians 5:26). Did you notice that I spoke of being kept clean, as well as being cleansed of daily defilement? What does that mean? When we are immersed in the water of God's Word, when our hearts are saturated with Scripture and we are applying and obeying its principles, we'll have much less defilement from which to be cleansed. Keep under the flow of water from the wells of salvation and you will enjoy spiritual purity! Selah! What wonderful provision God has made for those He loves!!    Ron
