What Matters Most?

Jesus stated a very fundamental principle in Matthew 6:33a. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousnesss…" (We usually focus on the second half of this verse.) Is He first?  Where does God fit in our lives?  Is He only at the edge of our lives?  Does our heart go out to him constantly? Maybe we just "tip our hats" to Him in the midst of our busyness. Is He revered?  Is His name revered?  Do we love Him, deep down in?  Have you considered that maybe we just like Him?  Might it be that we are a little afraid of letting Him take a penetrating look at our values, attitudes, thoughts and behavior?  Do we crave God?  Do we long to get alone with Him?  Are we anxious to listen to what He has to say?  Have we told God that we love Him?  Are we grateful to Him?  Do we hunger for a consciousness of His Presence?  I’m searching my own heart with these questions!  Are we ready to commit to making Him the most central and important part of our lives every day?  Selah!  Carefully consider the cost of this kind of commitment and then consider the cost of a life centered only on self!           Ron
